This unit is a component to converting any standard water heater to a solar water heater. These drainback tanks can be configured for use in a variety of ways:

• As retrofit to an existing water heater
• As a reservoir for heat exchanger tanks
• As part of a complete new Solar DHW system

DBX Drainback Tank Specifications

• Stainless Steel construction from type 304 alloy
• Seams and fittings are TIG welded
• Connection fittings are 3?4 inch female, NPT
• Each tank is provisioned for a vertical sight gauge with 1?2 inch female, NPT fittings
• Tank holds 13.8 US gallons.

Outer Jacket and Insulation :

• Rigid foam insulation poured and molded in place, 1inch on sides and bottom, 1 1?2 inch on top (R7.2 per inch)
• White ABS plastic outer shell with white ABS vacuum molded end caps
• White polyethylene moldings around all fittings
• Dimensions: 16 inches wide, 24.5 inches tall

Heat Exchangers:

• coil connections at top of tank
• Standard internal heat exchanger coils are 0.652 inch copper tube with 0.025 inch wall thickness

Energy Labs provides a 5 year warranty on all welds, seams, and heat exchanger components of each tank. The use of Cast Iron pumps voids the warranty.
